May 2024… This site is a rebuild of the 13 year old site I had so I made sure to date the posts.

My name is Rob … I now live in a beautiful Drumheller valley in the central interior of Alberta. But came from small town in BC. Will soon (April) be returning to that small town in BC.

I like to write & photo journalize about the projects that come into my shop.. both as a reference for me later, and as a way to share those things to help others who are working on similar stuff.  I have boat , tractor , scooter, quad and a few vehicle projects. My favourites are always the trailers that I have built and restored. I love put-zing in the shop.. it’s heated so the winter always sees more action.  The nicer weather always chases me outside for yard work & outdoor projects. The Captain thing came from the Kubota F2400 mower project .  (Below Photo).  A diesel commercial mower that I never intended to keep.

As I was working on the Kubota a friend came by and called me Captain Kubota.. I thought it was cool so it kinda stuck… And I liked boats too.  But what the heck.. I love my Kubota BX 1850 so I’ll keep the name. I used to do a lot of renovating, and that kept me busy in my spare time. Then one day I acquired an older Craftsman lawn tractor ( just for the bagging system ) that was in need of repair.  At the time I had a new lawn tractor and very much enjoyed using it.. so I didn’t need this one.  I fixed it up and sold it..  And that started the ball rolling with the lawn tractors.. I realized there was lots of broken ones that folks didn’t want. So I’ve had over twenty go through the shop.. They are small and easy to work on..The hobby paid for it’s self..plus I had fun.  I’ve since moved on to work on other things that interest me..  I find restoring /Fabricating/ painting  & repairing to be rewarding ..
