Big change of vehicles for us..!

Hi folks.. Yesterday we sold our Buick Enclave. Thinking we would go down to one vehicle. The GMC Canyon. Good idea .. save gas , maintenance and insurance. Well maybe not so much the gas.. Because we would still do the same amount of driving.. but with the truck. Most of that is to and from and around town. Gas mileage sucks on those short trips. So let’s do the dumb thing and defy my usual common sense and spend money to save money… That’s actually simplified, there’s reasons to this madness. Yes! we bought a small car.. But a rather special one.. Kia Soul luxury EV. And we have had a Soul before and liked it. I drove this one back from Nelson a year ago for the car lot. And since then I was still the one that drove it the most.. Because it’s an EV with a limited range. 170 kms on a nice day.. Talk about range anxiety.. I wasn’t sure I was going to make it back to GF. But I did with power to spare. However 170 range is not appealing to most folks.. So along comes us.. With our short trips to town …sometimes three times a day, Sometimes nowhere ..We will save $$$. We’ll use the truck less saving wear & tear and kms. The truck will be our “go out of town” vehicle, and for truck things. This 2019 Soul is loaded like our Buick was.. We got spoiled with the goodies. So here’s some more justification … Maureen did not really like driving the truck.. I’ll drive when the trips are out of town so she won’t need to think of that. As for our EV we will use the trickle charger so should not effect our power bill. This car has only 55,000 kms on it and good tires and brakes.. Nothing else to service . Plus we got a “smoken” deal.. which I will keep to myself. After more than a year on the lot the little lost soul has a loving home.
